Diana Peralta, MD, FPCEM

About the speaker

Dr. Ma. Diana H. Peralta, MD. FACEM Graduated from the University of Sto. Tomas - Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. She took her residency training in Emergency Medicine at Makati Medical Center in 1988 and subsequently earned her diplomate and fellowship with the Philippine College of Emergency Medicine on 1992. She finished instructor training course for Basic and Advanced Life support on 2011 and completed the provider's course for Pediatric Advanced Life support.
 

Dr Peralta also took the Emergency Medical Services Director's course with the American College of Emergency Physicians and concluded
several Emergency ultrasound courses with world Interactive Network Focused on Critical Ultrasound and with the Asean College of Emergency Medicine.

Ma. Lourdes D. Jimenez, MD, FPCEM, MSc

About the speaker

She is an Emergency Medicine specialist, educator, and researcher with particular expertise in Hospital and Emergency Department Administration, Quality Improvement, Research Investigation, and the Academe. She was the recipient of an international scholarship grant to undergo training in the field of Hospital and Emergency Department Administration from the University of Barcelona, one of the most respected University and Hospital in the world. In the Philippines, she is the current Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine of The Medical City, a tertiary level hospital and a Joint Commission International accredited institution. Likewise, she is a Medical Specialist III and Assistant Training Officer in the Philippine General Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine. She is also an active faculty in two Medical Schools namely: University of the Philippines – College of Medicine and Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health. Lastly, she is an active researcher with multiple publications who currently leads studies in Emergency Department Operations and Quality Improvement.

 

Dr. Ma. Lourdes D. Jimenez, will be tackling our first case on ER Design and Administration: How to Prepare for Another Pandemic.

Pacifico Eric E. Calderon, MD, MBEth

About the speaker

Dr Pacifico Eric Eusebio Calderon is a Filipino physician with relevant professional experience, degree qualifications, and academic impact in health care ethics and medical education. He is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Professionalism, Medical Ethics, and Humanities within St. Luke’s Medical Center College of Medicine-William H. Quasha Memorial; and Head of Clinical Ethics Services at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Philippines.

 

Pacifico earned qualifications in science (Bachelor of Science in Biology) and medicine (Doctor of Medicine) through the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines. He studied medical ethics (Master of Bioethics) within The University of Sydney (Australia), supported by Australia Awards Scholarships; and education (Master of Education) within Monash University (Australia), supported by St. Luke’s Medical Center. He was also a visiting scholar at Kyoto University (Japan) as a Takeda Science Foundation International Fellow. He is currently completing the University Leadership and Management Training Programme (UNILEAD) at the University of Oldenburg (Germany) as a DAAD scholar.

 

Throughout his career in medicine (2011 to present), Pacifico has created national impact through various academic, clinical, and leadership roles. As a medical educator and subject matter expert in health care ethics, he has provided technical advisory to research and policy in clinical ethics, health professions education, and pharmaceutical development. He has developed resources in professionalism and ethics education for medical schools, health care institutions, and health industries within Southeast Asia.

 

He is currently the Vice Chair of the Asia Pacific Bioethics Education Network.

Marlon Arcegono, MD, FPCP, DPSMID

About the speaker

Dr. Marlon S. Arcegono is a graduate of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, College of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency training at Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center, and his fellowship training in Infectious Diseases at the Philippine General Hospital. A diplomate and Fellow of the Philippine College of Physicians and Diplomate of the Philippine Society for Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. He is a member of Infectious Diseases Society of America and European Society for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.  He is currently the Vice chair of the Hospital infection prevention and control unit  and Antimicrobial stewardship committee at OMMC. He is an Assistant Professor at the PLM-College of Medicine. He is also involved in the WHO-Philippines Solidarity Trial Vaccine as Field Operations Manager. He’s involved various researches and publications and affiliated in both public and private hospitals here in Manila and Laguna.
