The Department of Emergency, Prehospital, and Disaster Medicine of Ospital ng  Makati is pleased to welcome you to its 7th Postgraduate Course entitled, “Capacities: Emergency Medicine in the Post-pandemic Era.” This biennial postgraduate course is attended by and aimed mostly towards Emergency Physicians, Barangay Health Center Physicians, General Practitioners, as well as for Emergency Nurses, and Emergency Medical Technicians.

       Since the last postgraduate course, the practice of emergency medicine has changed drastically due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The focus for this year’s postgraduate course is on how the COVID-19 pandemic has made an impact on emergency medicine, and how the specialty has adapted. The aim is to make the participants aware of the different capacities and capabilities the pandemic has provided the field of emergency medicine: that we can still learn through adversity.

       This post-graduate course will feature various topics in the field of emergency medicine: ER Design and Administration, Ethics in the Emergency Room, Infectious Disease, Medical Informatics, Flight Medicine, and Mental Health.
